Fencing costs

Just wondering what I should price a fencing job at?
Fence 1 stock netting with 2 strands of barbed wire and round stakes

Fence 2, square posts with 4 rails and stock netting

Also how do people price for gates, materials plus an amount for labour based on how long it would be expected to take?

Any advice greatly received.

I should add I was thinking of pricing per meter, stock netting plus 2 strands £6.50 /m I was told

Quality and price of materials will differ massively so you need to quote accordingly. I pay my contractors £3.20 per meter to put up stock net and two strands of barbed and I always supply the materials

Will depend on number of strainers turners you should charge for additional strainer and turner outwith the two at either end. If ground is hard it may take 15- 20 mins each one.
Also charge more for stays..
Also closer posts are the more you need to charge.
Every job needs to priced on its own merits

You should be able to get rylock type netting +1 plain + 1 barb + 6 staples at just less than £1/metre.

The wooden bits that hold it all up shouldn't come to more than 80p/metre even with 6' posts every 4 metres and strainers as needed.

I think you have got your maths wrong! Your not paying £10/m!

I will quote you for tornado wire if you require it. Am sure I can beat £10 per m. Will do it for £9.99 with free installation as long as access is good. ?

That's can't be right, a roll of HT8/80/30 is around 70 per roll so that's 70p per metre, a roll of 200m barb is £40 so with 2 strands that's 40p per m, add on a plain wire on the bottom for good measure for another 10-20p metre and you looking at £1.40 per m inc staples. A £4 stake every 3m and strainers your probably only looking at £3-4 per m worst case all in.

Even so it's never going to cost £10 just in wire, I doubt it's costing £10 per m even with box strainers and turning post every 15m.

Sorry everyone worked it out completely wrong. We paid 99p/m - got my deciman point in the wrong place!
