Has anyone got an indication of costs for the following fencing for horses.
Post and three rails using machine round posts and half round rails
Alternatively machine round posts with horse spec wire and a half round rail over.

Many Thanks

2 inch wide electric tape strained on creosoted posts is best, one tape or two depending on mare and foals etc. Wide tape looks like ratchet strap

we dont use machine round posts as they quickly become loose ,If using a post i.e rectangular post and 4 rail for aesthetic reasons (expensive but looks the part) use this up the drive etc , elswhere or when cost is a concern pig wire topped with electric.Wouldnt use 1/2 rounds esp on round posts looks naf 1/2 a job , if using pig wire ( or post and rail) found its best to run an electric wire held off with a foot length of alkathene pipe at an angle i.e pointing up and in with a hole in it to thread the wire so keeping the horses apart and away from any boundary and all electric wire is the rope type.Internals for paddock management are just electric with wooden post 1-8 so can be moved if needed or just plastic posts 2 wires if moved more frequently

Non creosoted posts/rails tend to get eaten and turn out to be false economy. Electric will be your cheapest option.
We go tornado horse wire, square creosote posts, two creosote rails - it is phenomenally expensive but keeps the equine staff happy!

Don't use wood, I have 7, and if it has no electric on it they will just chew and push is over. My lovely expensive wooden gates are now sprung and chewed, I had to put electric on them, and as the wooden posts rot I am replacing them with Clipex. We are on clay so they just rot at ground level and we had Jacksons and as soon as you drill them you have no warranty and they still move. Clipex are far more stable, I just wish they did more fittings.
Invest in mains electric and a good sim controlled energiser, that tells you sends you texts for faults and shorts, my best investment, nothing goes near it.

ive got std fence with 30c spaced wire then if its stupid enough to put its foot though it can get it back out,

plain on top with electric band as above the 4cm stuff, works fine as long as your horses are not stupid.

horses one side sheep other.

if you have no electric they will just push your fence crooked within a week

I'd say barb is essential for anybody that won't use electric or they'll have no respect for a fence what's so ever.
not sure that barb is possible/practical because most horse owners wont have barb at any cost ,not so much based on that its a good economical fence more the fear of dobbin getting scratched. The main reason we dont use barb or if horses are in a field used for other stock we put an electric on top to keep them off ,is that the folks tend to rug horses up which makes barb useless and then the horse owner whinges about damage to rugs or mane and tail hair and the field farmer despairs at the damage to the fence

I know that. But horse owners don't want barb and won't use /look after electric so Dobbin destroys the fence.

t posts and 6 to 8mm electric rope...put up a good fence and worry about the pretty stuff afterwards.... if they aren't used to electric fence... run some in a safe place and let them get shocked making sure they know where it comes from... best is a handful of grass and let them get the shock in the mouth... I always do that with foals.... breaks my heart... but it only takes once....
unless you have stupid horses or a freak... then it's best with a butcher.....
