Fender external service

Hi can anyone tell me if you can start a hydraulic motor from the button on the mud guard, or is it me doing something wrong. Again! [emoji17]

Fendt 828.
From the terminal only....

When the fender button is used on a 700 fendt the output of the spool is limited. I assume it’s the same on a 828. You may not get enough output for your attachment.

Stands to reason and that’s exactly how it’s explained in the manual above. It’s limited to 30 litres/min and only flows as long as your pressing the button.

The fender buttons are really designed for adjusting a hydraulic top link, hence the very slow ramp up in output for safety reasons.

@blaser there is another way of doing this, but would involve extra plumbing, so you may need to weigh up if its worth the hassle...

Your Fendt will have a PowerBeyond hydraulic port on the back. You could plumb the motor using three hoses: PB pressure, load sensing line and free-flow return.

To set the motor speed you would need to fit an adjustable flow control valve into the PB pressure line. To regulate the oil demand from the tractor pump, the load sensing line would need to be Tee'd in after the flow control valve. Fit shutoff tap on the PB pressure line to run / stop the motor. You could fit another shutoff tap to the load sense line to enable you to swap the setup back to operate on a regular 2 hose setup through a spool.

See latter part of this thread for details:

Thanks for all the information, all ready using the power beyond for the implement, i am running a separate hydraulic motor and wanted to control it from outside, but it’s no problem jumping into cab to start/ stop. Have tried it from outside and can’t get enough flow to the pump, thanks again.

Sounds like climbing back in the cab is going to be the simplest solution;). Fender button on a Fendt wont give you either enough flow or constant pumping. It's just not designed for running up motors from.

You could run multiple implements etc from the PB port. It would require a (pressure compensated) adjustable flow valve for each 'implement' coming off the PB pressure line. The load sense line then gets Tee'd off, using shuttle (dime) valves, to isolate the LS line going to each implement or external block.

Most folks only ever have the need to run one device/implement block from the PB port, but it can be done. However if its not set up correctly it can be problematic.
