I'm trying to replace a 2014 Case 130cvx (well speced) that I really like, but it's no longer available as short chassis.
I am looking for CVT, min 145hp / 50k, front links and pto. Fully suspended with air brakes, short chassis and tight turning (4 CYL) and at least steering ready (run rtk trimble currently sharing 2 screens across 3 tractors and combine).
I've had quotes on Jd 6130R AP, Valtra N174D and Fendt 516 and waiting on Cnh Maxxum 145 direct 8 (demo tomorrow) and Cvx. Also demo'd a deutz 165 cvt (no price yet).

What am I missing. I find the NH cabs a bit depressing and prefer the Case armrest, I like the new JD joystick, but the Valtra Smart touch has really surprised me, never even sat in a valtra before last week, very impressed. I think it pipped the fendt, but then the gearbox is not full cvt, I definitely prefer the cvx box on the case...

Direct 8 is no where near your cvx not even close in my opinion and red is definitely better than blue but blue is made here
I agree, I drove one up the rd the other day, was really put off. Thought I should give it due diligence so demo coming tomorrow, but to be honest I think it is out, we do a lot of road mikes between jobs, the cvx box is do smooth, why would we ever go back? I liked the Valtra a lot, but the C to D range change might be a step too far!

In 5 year's time the only tractor with a good second hand valve will be the fendt and they have the best warranty
Both warranties are full Agco backed and the same desler ( not insurance ) so absolutely no difference, other than £15k once the fendt is front pto, rtk and another 2 yrs warranty. In cold numbers at todays values the fendt is maybe 50k with 6000 hrs and 5 yrs up it, Is the Valtra really only £35k? They look to be trading at 40-50 pre smart touch as the old cab 163d variants on 15 plates?
989 fendts sold UK 2018 vs 617 Valtra (up180 odd). Thinking it is on a growth cycle and residuals might be a winner in a few years?
Must add, this is purely an unemotional thought process, I've sat in a Valtra for approx 8 minutes of my life...but it got me thinking.

For comparison:
JD 6130AP steering ready plus my other minimium requirements on 600 and 540s £102k opening price.
Case 145cvx as above approx £96k first offer (waiting on written quote) but I suspect that number is heavily negotiable.
All have been quoted min spec:
Front links/pto/2 spools, 50k min, cvt box, 4 rear spools, air, steering ready, upgraded work lights.

These new valtra tractors are holding their value very well. I’m looking at second hand 2 to 3 year old models and I can find no bargains or even what I would consider great value for money. I have found several fendt tractors who have lost a far higher percentage of their origionial price than the valtra are losing.

Only from demo experience we had a N174 direct 2 yes ago and it was a good outfit but the gearbox is a bit strange coming from JD's autopower but youd get used to it . My biggest gripe was when the seat is turned the smart touch screen fouled on the side console so for me jobs like round baleing ploughing etc it's a no from me . I'd have a better look than 8 mins in the cab before committing.

Any one that bought a Valtra in our area has only had one of them , they are very hard to sell second hand, were you Fendt will be very good to sell & will be worth far more that 15 k over the valtra any day, warranties may be the same on paper with the same dealer but the fendt one is the best by a mile .

£96k for the Case? Our CVX 130 was £69k in 2014, including autosteer and front PTO.

That's a fair rate of inflation. Offer them £75k for it!

We have a N154e
Been doing some maize alongside NHs 210 hp boosted and case 185s all mostly on 14t trailers.
Valtra did the full day without needing a top up. I know the NH and cases needed a top up as they take a browser for them.
Caught up and was held up behind empty and full trailers. All over weight bridge so even weight loaded.

Our old one sold fine.
Paid a lot less than a JD NH or MF for it new. Less capital tied up
If I got less for it as a trade in , it's all relative as I paid less in the first place.

Anything is hard to sell secondhand if your asking too much for it!
5 year warranty on our tractor.
I was told by a reliable source that the dealer sells 2 valtra to every fendt.
Someone must be happy with them
Each to their own though.

Our local valtra dealer traded in 4 fendt tractors this year from 4 differant farms for new valtra t4 tractors . And can you show me where these valtra second hand tractors are that are hard sold . I’d love to see them.
