Fendt 724 Guidance

In the autumn I upgraded my Fendt 716 to a 724 with Fendts own Varioguide installed. I used the 716 with a JD ATU200 steering wheel and 2600 screen for guidance and for sending variable rate data to the drill and fertiliser spreader. The new tractor is working well as far is guidance is concerned but the Fendt Varioguide cannot deal with variable rate applications.

I have a Knight trailed sprayer with auto section control running through a Muller Controller and this gets its GPS position from the NMEA socket in the 724's cab. I have tried, but without success, to plug my old JD 2600 screen into this NMEA socket, using the COM port, so that I can use this screen to control variable rate applications.

Has anyone tried this and succeeded?

Many thanks

The NMEA coming out of the varioguide will not work with VRA applications. I'd try to use your exsisting JD receiver and JD2600 screen. Failing that. I have a nice Topcon system 350 i could sell you with Xlinks......

Thanks Robt...... trying to avoid spending anymore money! I was hoping to get the RTK signal from the 724 into the JD screen so that the 2600 could then run the VRA job and send the rates through the 2nd com port to the spreader as before. I was also trying to avoid mounting my old SF1 receiver on the roof! The Muller screen can run VRAs using the NMEA out so why can't the JD2600?

Ok chaps, I don't know too much about fendt varioguide as Topcon only provide the receiver.
Activate NMEA out, select VTG, ZDA,GGA and RMC at 5hz
That solid work but not sure how many com ports the fendt screen has.
