You know when your sat there happily baling away and your certain you can smell diesel but dont want to believe it, I could see from the seat the tank top was on, so got off and noticed a heavy leak on the right hand side, on closer inspection there is a 12 inch rubber pipe running up to the pump that was totally perished on only a 3 year old tractor, this can,t be normal can it, what really pis#ed me off was i must of lost 50 plus litres going by the Gauge.

Its rubber...they fail (fuel lines, not specifically your exact one). No chafing/rubbing hopefully or small furry critters taking a likeness to it.

Annoying but just get a replacement and be thankful you got it before really bad stuff happened.

Not rats, on closer inspection the pipe is split almost from one end to the other, this really concerns me as it would be under high pressure and these rubber pipes are,t up to the job. They should not be failing like this imo, it needs heavier duty pipe.

Checked them over today, don,t seem to bad. the pipe is just soft rubber, what,s your thoughts? do you think i need to get some stronger pipe, I would imagine the psi is quite high.
It's only on the supply side from tank to the pump, so it won't be common rail type pressure. If the hose from AGCO isn't up to it, a good marine grade fuel hose, should be up to the task.

Yes that,s the one.

Mine looks like a very soft rubber but can't see any splits in it, it looks like it might be slightly shaped at the bottom but I would say a straight piece would be fine, Gates fuel hose seems to last well.

My 516 has an ongoing problem with poor starting, I think the fuel is running back to the tank while standing, but seemingly the dealer can't or won't fix it even though it's under warranty still:mad::poop:

That,s how mine first started, it would start up and stop immediately, if i pumped the hand pump a few times it would start up and run ok all day, I put some new fuel pipe on today i had in the work shop, not sure it,s strong enough so will have to keep a keen eye on it. Rfm quoted £12 for new piece which sounded cheap for agco.
