We have been without proper rtk signal for 2 months now.
All worked until tractor had 1000hr service and engineer
Upgraded the tractor software.
Dealer been out many times but can’t cure the fault.
Not the only one like it apparently.
Fields now look a bloody mess as we don’t have tramlines
And if you can’t see the first pass wheeling to follow you
Have to put new ones in.

oh dear that's not good we do inter-row weeding so cant afford to have no rtk, I think a meeting with the dealer might be in order before the tractor arrives, thanks for that

How old is the receiver, or actually how old SW did the receiver have before the SW update?

1000 hours sounds like a relatively new tractor but some time around 2016 or 2017 or so, they changed A/B-line format and the old waylines were supposed to be adapted with the service tool. This only affected AB-lines, contour/curved waylines should be fine. If old wayline data was available, one could enter new AB-lines manually too.

The receiver is new they replaced it when the fault first developed.
Engineer is certain it is a network problem as he has several other tractors doing it. If the tractor is left outside 24/7 then it will work
but if you put tractor in shed the next day it won’t work.
To many pikeys to keep leaving it out side at night.

It could be, or it could be the receiver. What correction service are you using? Have you tested/tried any alternative correction services?

Currently have a 724 with novatel receiver n trip rtk. Replaced a topcon system on the previous tractor. Has been a big change between the 2 machines. Headlands now much easier, Have the auto switch for headland turning, takes a little measuring and learning, now I have it sorted it’s very good.

Just had a 1000 hour service and update. It has worked well with no big problems. Had a glitch when I first had it but it was an incorrect setting.

I do find it easier than the jd system I have but TBH I do spend a lot more time in the Fendt.

I know there have been some issues with Trimble recently unfortunately I cant remember exactly what i was told. It was at the trimble end of things. My tractor wouldnt connect to ntrip (the phone switch). As I wasn't using auto steer at the time I didn't take much notice. Apparently the problem has been fixed and it has been working fine on my tractor over the last few days.

Our Fendt VarioGuide (the older Topcon based receiver/modem) fails to register to the BKG NTRIP caster. This is why I have configured free access and this Fendt works fine. Difficult to say if it is "a network side issue" or and issue at the tractor modem because every other NTRIP client that I've tried, registers fine to the BKG caster even if credentials are used. Then again, the Fendt registers to other casters like SNIP. I would say it is protocol implementation robustness, either side could fix the issue.

I think it’s a bit like going from an iPhone back to a Nokia.
We were all Topcon but gradually moving to all Agco and I actually prefer it because it’s all built in and no need to keep moving screens or receivers, it does everything we need but it’s not quite as fancy!
