Fendt Joystick

I have broken the red spool button the Fendt joystick, it works 100% but the top half has broken off, does anyone know whether individual parts can be got for it?

The other question, is there any clever way to rig up an auto steer engage button off the original joystick? I have a 2 core wire coming from my Topcon and it needs a momentary button added. Was wondering whether any of the stop/go buttons could be used?

Same joystick as this:

Mmmmn yeah not so sure about using any “spare” buttons in the joystick. I could be wrong, but unfortunately it probably wont just be a case of buzzing out a spare set of terminals.

If it’s anything like the newer generation of sticks on SCR and S4 machines, then the buttons will somehow be wired through a CANbus (digital serial bus connecting main tractor controllers and functions) node in the joystick.

If you really want an engage button on the stick, then you would need to run a separate lead and find some spare real estate on the stick to locate a button/switch. Looks pretty busy there already.

Hi mate - I was wondering whether the “Go” and “End” buttons could be programmed to do the same thing. I have never used them before but I’m sure they can be used to record a headland sequence - just wondering whether or not they could be used to activate something, which could in turn be used to momentarily engage the steering. Is there anything back at the fuse box that these switches can control? If so it should be possible to make them trigger the steering

Hi
The buttons are available as a repair kit.
As far as I know the only button you could use for the steering is the button on the valve joystick that is designed for a loader 3rd service, it activates a relay that powers a wire above the valve block where the loader pipes would go.

Go and End are used for exactly that - headland management functions, record and playback. If your tractor was using integrated VarioGuide steering, then depending on the tractor, VarioGuide steering functions can be integrated into the headland sequences.

These control functions are all done via the headland management and isobus implement control - so if you have an isobus implement, you can dedicate various implement functions to Go and End (as well as other buttons on the joystick).

They do not however have discrete external outputs - any output control would need to be via Isobus.

Different “joystick” though. That’s the cross-gate stick, rather than the main joystick.

Dirty solution for the autosteer trigger:
If you have a spare electric spool, programme it to pulse, then float, on one of the headland buttons and put a pressure switch on the outlet.

Yes I think you can but I wanted to swap between dial and spool for buckraking, it’s that way round now but Iv lost a spool on the back [emoji31]

Yeah I know what you mean. My 711 has the front linkage plumbed into the green spool and has a lever outside to switch from front linkage to rear spool. My 818 has the front linkage on the dial and is a bugger to buckrake with.
