What model year is the Fendt? There are quite a few second hand VarioGuide RTK receivers on sale (even more EGNOS capable receivers where you would need to add the gyro and RTK modem plug-in units as mentioned above).

Note, on Agcotrader mose of the precision ag gear are incorrectly put under tractor accessories rather than precision farming.

I think they have a few of the more recent receiver models too, from Trimble or Novatel.

If you want to go factory receiver/steering then get a quote from your dealer on the new(er) Agco Trimble or NovAtel receivers. Both options are far cheaper than the Topcon option previously. They can fit to any of the current or previous SCR generation machines models from about 2011.

The other benefit beside price point is that AGCO/Fendt are only selectively adding new features to the older Topcon based receivers when they roll software updates. The Trimble and NovAtel receivers get all the features working. They claim this is due to hardware limitations on the Topcon units, but suspiciously I think it’s the slow way of dropping full software support for the Topcon units.

Did you ever get an email from the guy at Fendt on the software updates

Hey guys,

I heard from my product specialist also that 31/1 and 1/2 there would be a specialist training.
I recommend the Trimble receiver for RTK use. The Xfill function works great and its the only brand with that function on cell ntrip rtk that I know. I have experience with both Topcon and Trimble and I like the Trimble receiver. When buying a trimble cell rtk system on a new fendt profiplus tractor I believe its around 8000€ here in Belgium, don't shoot me if its more.
When comparing the price of a AGI4 RTK Fendt receiver and the Trimble receiver you have to think about the external cell ntrip modem for the Trimble when ordering everything in parts. (My dad once toughed trimble=rtk and bought a cheap Fendt Trimble receiver but forgot the modem unit)

My tip is to buy a receiver from someone who knows what he is doing and talking about, most sales points can't offer a qualified mechanic who knows what he is doing with the detailed settings for isobus and ntrip settings.
