Did the above company's sell there gas on the open market for massive proffits then stop production, then go cap in hand to our goverment for millions to restart production? is the point being made I believe.
I get the point, and I agree however if you have cheap energy as they have in North Africa then you don't need to. I did see somewhere that Yara and other European producers received some support but might be wrong. As long as the government keep paying me I don't mind

They to had cheep energy (pre bought) but chose to sell it back to the supplier knowing they could demand millions to start up again!

Got to admire their business model of making money at every angle they can!!

but rightly people will buy what’s best for their business be that imported fertiliser produced to different health and safety requirements and different cost of production structures abroad or domestic, it all comes down to cost at the end of the day.
