Fertiliser Price Tracker

Another 2 dry days and I recon I could have got spread what I normally give an early dose. As it happened I had too much on and didn’t have time to hitch the spreader up and get it calibrated.
I just put it on this dinner time. Only put a few bags on but should help. The lack of grass is worrying me so even if it’s not good weather ahead it’s worth a try. Late spring again the heat is in the ground just the east winds and wet soil is the problem. Not that I need to tell you

Been on fixing a few drain this last couple of days so I can get travelled round lambing fields a bit easier and the whole soil profile is totally sodden, the last few years it was only the top 2-3 inch wet and dry below. If it doesn’t come a dry summer silage time is going to be a real worry.

Fertiliser still in shed here. Cheltenham festival is when we would normally be spreading. Can barely travel with the mule let alone with a tractor and vari spreader. We have had over half our annual rainfall in the 1st three months. I forsee another rubbish year for spring barley.
