They have timed delivery slots but they do not work in hauliers favourJust the sheer volume of trucks at distribution centres though isn’t it?
We do not have the staff on the farm but organise delivery and loading so trucks spend no more than 30 minutes on the farmI guess so, but they haven’t got the staff now

Urea up $50 again today on the back of the latest Indian tender. $1000 Fob is just around the corner.
£705 is a fantastic price.
I’d imagine you will see merchants pulling terms in the morning.
Hauliers have been thought of as cheap storage on wheels for too long. It doesn’t work when there aren’t enough drivers to have lots just sitting idle just waiting to unload.I think it is more 'pointed' than that.
The whole distribution centre is designed and run to maximise benefit to the retailer. The hauliers have never been shown or been taken into consideration.
The current shortage of drivers might educate their priorities a little.
I paid 350 , which is more than I would like , at 700 I'd take my chances next spring .Had a call today about my delivery for next week.asked if there was plenty of stock.was origin at Yarmouth.told loads on dock and need it cleared to get more in which was waiting on boats to get unloaded.hardly seemed like a shortage.was told they are having a job getting farmers to take it and a lot want to wait to spring for delivery but they would then have to pay spring prices
nick…
