wouldn’t it be nice to know how much Fert is sitting at the docks. Or perhaps on its route to the Uk. Just a tonnage would be nice. The reason is! Nfu Servey. AHDB and RED TRACTOR. really need me to tell them what I’ve got in my grain store. My advice is don’t tell them anything.

Well said.

Government happy to hammer the wheat price down to reduce inflation too.

Farmers are being taken for a ride being asked for this information.

Every farmer is guilty of this. When the purchaser asks how much have you got to sell. We give them a tonnage. I’ve been one of them farmers. 6 months ago when I asked for Fert. They told me I can’t get any or it’s in very short supply. If you’re lucky I may get you some. Wan uuurs

Where do you get salt from? What's name of product? I know salts obvious answer!

All our soil samples show we are low in sodium. It's something I'd like to change.

I buy it as Ag Salt, in 600kg bags from usual fert merchants. I apply before beet and have also put a cwt/ac on grassland before now.
It’s not dear stuff, but did go up a bit when N did for some inexplicable reason.

This was Origin Agricultural Salt, came through a local fert rep. Had it through Wynnstay before also. I don't use alot (3T) so just get 5 bags, it may well be cheaper in bulk. We use it to sweeten old pasture for the cattle, and the difference is terrific. 125kg/ha does the trick. Think we paid £160/t, can't remember. It used to be alot less!

We used to do a lot of ag salt and sylvinite out of Boulbly Potash, many years ago. Mainly to the big sugar beat areas.

Help…any of you out there spread Yara Amidas with an Amazone & happen to know the flow/calibration factor? Went to calibrate it just now but my scales have decided to pack up 🙄 I’ve got the app but sometimes I find it way out. So would like a rough idea & can tinker with it after the first couple bags if need be. Disc settings would be handy too if they’re far out from the app? 24m with OM discs. Thanks 👍
