Picked up a bit of fertiliser spreading work in the last few years......but still unsure the best way to charge for it. By the hour? By the acre? By weight? Any advice appreciated thankyou

We do all our contract stuff by the acre some days you're covering easy acres putting on small rates other days you're on big rates and small acres you just have to take the good with the bad as with most jobs .
Charge accordingly we take enough to cover everything as all the jobs I do I cart it all from the steading myself but if they put someone on with a trailer we'd take a bit less if it was coming to the gate

Just a couple of customers at the min. Have done the majority of it by the acre and just sort of swallowed the cost of trundling a few miles down the road for 20 acre. A friend does it all by the hour.
