Fertilisers and sprays

Another question(s). Firstly, what is T1's, T2's etc, are they sprays? What do they do?what are fungicides and herbicides? Where do you purchase chemicals and fertilisers? How do you know what fertiliser or spray to apply, how much of it and when? What is variable rate? Sorry for all the questions again.

T1 and t2s are fungicides

Your questions are a bit broad! Fert depends on crop indices etc

Spray Recommendations are normally done by a qualified agronomist

In brief a T1 or T2 is a timing for a fungicide spray related to plant growth stages. Fungicides protect crops from fungal disease, to a point, which can be a huge yield loss factor if disease is allowed to thrive in crops. Herbicides are 'weedkillers', the majority are aimed at taking out either broadleaved or grassweeds within the growing crop, an exception is glyphosate which is non-selective, ie it kills everything (in theory). Chems and fert purchased through merchants like Frontier or Gleadalls etc, or through buying groups, or local ag chem suppliers as well as various other ways, theres no one way of doing these things. Knowing what to apply and when comes through experience, education and training, experience, expert advice (agronomists, RB209 the fertiliser manual), crop walking and testing and more experience. Variable rate applies generally to seed and fertiliser where the rate of application of said seed or fert is varied across a field depending on soil types, ph, nutrient levels etc, usually done via gps and mapping software but it can be done by 'knowing your fields' but not as accurately as with gps tech.

Thank you, really appreciate it, helped me understand a lot better, thanks
