Right at the end, talking about CEO of Red Tractor, if the job came available, Minette says "who would want that job if it did come up". Not only that, but Minette, who's known for being a big supporter of RT, says she wouldn't want the job either.

It's not always fair to delve deeply into what someone says in an interview, because you've got a split second to decide what to say, but....

Even Minette must think RT is in a perilous position, so much so that she comments how unattractive the CEO job would be, given all that's happened.

What's happened recently, which has been the catalyst for all the debacle, is the GFC. Red Tractor board have known about it for approximately two years. Discussed it, and apparently there was a consensus that GFC was a good idea, and iirc Tom Bradshaw said "the principle" of the GFC was correct. So although everyone on the board seemed to agree with the GFC, it's caused a situation where even NFU President thinks no-one would want the RT CEO position.

Is the game over for Red Tractor? Is it the beginning of the end?

At the BFU, we've been saying for a long time that RT is out of touch.

Never believe something until its been officially denied. I'd say its pretty much guaranteed that she'll be parachuted into heading RT at some point in the next couple of years. The perfect candidate - a woman, so ticks the 'diversity' box, the former head of the NFU so can be argued to 'represent farming' and (most importantly) is bought and paid for by the Retail Blob, so can be relied on by them to do their bidding.

Unfortunately it would appear that the NFU is also incredibly out of touch with farmers.

Am I the only one that gets confused by how exactly the NFU and RT are one minute, completely aligned, the next, completely separate?
We have an "independent" review into RT governance, started by the NFU when the NFU are the main 'governor'!
Assured Food standards Ltd, have 75% voting rights over Red Tractor assurance Ltd,
Minette was on that board for over 5 years before being pushed into resigning;

The next President is already there in every sense;

How can she pretend to have a 'holier than thou' style, independent and objective view on it?

It's bizarre.

NFU have been saying how brilliant and vital Red Tractor is, NFU have been involved in running the show, NFU wanted the GFC, but now the NFU President is saying that given what's happened with RT... no-one in their right mind would want the job of running it.

Folk have been calling for Jim Moseley to resign, and earlier this week Jim said he was just doing as directed by the board, he isn't ready to retire yet, and if there's an issue it is the board who should resign.

Looks like only person left at RT will be the BRC/Morrisons representative Sophie Throup and Jim Moseley (if he survives). So there we have it, what we suspected all along, it would leave Red Tractor controlled by BRC and managed by Jim.

How can NFU say they support Red Tractor if their President says, due to the mess RT is in, no-one would want to run the show.

I'm going to get family sized bucket of popcorn and hunker down for more entertainment.

Batters has said likes of BRC unlikely to pay a premium to farmers in a RT scheme. They certainly won't pay a worthwhile premium for the majority of farmers that's for sure. Batters has said there are vested interests which is undoubtedly true and it revolves around money. Batters has said it will be a mistake getting rid of RT just like Bradshaw says. They keep repeating the same old tune we need to address RT.Yet both have never mentioned grain farmers are illegally forced into a RT scheme against the farmers will due to illegal criminal activity by AIC as defined by legal advice. Many livestock farmers have rightly ditched the parasitic RT.
Neither of them have said the BRC are doing a power grab of farmer assets carbon credits rubbish for free and passing ever increasing costs onto the farmer.Both have never mentioned themselves,RT,AIC are working for the likes of BRC rather than the farmer as evidenced on this forum. Why? Because it's about money and this corrupt lot follow the money. Cut the money supply and these corrupt parasites will have to find a new host to feed off filling their pockets full of money.

If we have local MPs like this man Andrew Bridgen, then there's an excellent opportunity to cut the head of the snake off, the criminal outfit AIC and with it the house of cards will fall, that is RT,AIC,BRC,NFU hierarchy as there is some good in the NFU lower down. I suspect this is why Batters is jumping ship as she realises there is a possibility of being found out along with the rest of them following the money.

The TV media could do an undercover investigation into the illegal activity of AIC saying UFAS mills can import foreign Gatekeeper lab tested grain but not UK produced Gatekeeper lab tested grain, AIC lying saying imported grain is the same legal standards as UK grain because banned pesticides under UK law have been used and that imported grain doesn't bother with GFC net zero lies, RT sells illegally produced non farm assured grain under the RT label, that RT label sells farm assured grain mixed in with non assured illegally produced grain from abroad, that the UK farmer has far greater costs of production compared to foreign countries who know GFC net zero is a load of rubbish and don't put up with parasites like RT, AIC,BRC. Perhaps in cooperation with MPs then the scene is set for the capitulation of the snake.

Not saying Bridgen is a good representative for farmers, I think he has what it takes to sever the head of the snake AIC if he wants to. There are other local MPs that have the will and clout to deal with the head of the snake AIC.
