Anyone no what a fiat 4842542 engine is? What fiats was it in?

That's a block casting number.The engine model number is 8065. Think it was used from the 110 90 and up,including the F series. Possibly also in a 100 90 but it was a 5.4L. Others were 5.9L. Iveco lorries used it too.

Thanks for that. It’s on a fire water pump. Presume the engine model number would be on a shiny plate which this one doesn’t have?

Yes,I think it would have been on a plate. Probably an 8060 then too as 0 denotes industrial and 5 is for agricultural use.
