Fiat 780 clutch adjustment

Hi all. We have a fiat 780 tractor 1987ish and the clutch is given a bit of trouble. Its has become very short and very difficult to get into gear in the last week. Possibly on it's way out. We will probably take it to proper mechanic to get sorted as pto clutch needs done to.
Question is, can this be adjusted easily for a temporary fix to get cattle fed for a few weeks. And if so how??

There is two ten mm nuts locked on the end of the cable, down where the lever comes out of the bellhousing, you can adjust them to lift the pedal up, but I'd think the cable is stretched and ready to break because as the clutch wears the pedal comes out and needs dropped down again
