some round here seem to have the insulation on the under skin so assume there is some on the top layer, mind they dont worry if they dont last long they just want them cheap, hitachi put up a building opposite me with a fancy folded type roof on it, its around three years old and have seen guys on it a couple of times sorting problems.

If I have to do the roof then its tin, if someone else is fitting it then fibre three of us did a 120 by 60 roof with fibre in two days a couple of years ago was windy and I vowed never again was cream crackered by the end thought I was going hang gliding a couple of times

I did a 120 x 60 in a couple of days same with fibre but did a 20x45 with tin roof and that took almost as long!!!

we find use a man basket to lift fibre sheets up stack say 10 on basket with 1 man in it, lift up and pass and position them with 1 in basket 1 on roof and it doesn't go too bad. I don't know about these with nets under as youll have sheets to carry all way up roof? I know its the rules but makes work

Yes that is the problem and as we had a visit from HSE about using a man cage and not having hard hats on we took no chances of getting dobbed in again so used nets and carried them up from the bottom

would a harness be a viable option for working as I described? you could be attached to apex of roof and working with a snatch type block on the rope? <I don't know if theyd like it but I cant see a problem HSE wise?

Still meant to use a harness with nets and of course a safety rail,its a nightmare, heard of a guy who died because he fell off/through a roof, his harness saved him but they could get to him because he was toohigh for the lifts and the harness cut of his blood supply, safest way is to fill the shed with bales and then put the roof on
