Quoted £200 delivered for the 0.14.14 Scottish grade, which makes 0.24.24 look like better value.

Hardly much advantage over compound at that price by the time it's spread.

From the Fert price thread on 31st Jan, which would make up a 0.12.12 at £284, so £250 would be about right THEN for Fibrophos.

With 0:24:24 not much over £400/t fibrophos wants to be £150/t taking into account extra spreading costs and the stuff that blows away in the wind when spread.

It would depend how windy it is, I wouldn't want to quantify it, but it always looks quite bad. How much do you think?

you might see some finer dust in a vortex at the edges of the spread, but I don't think there will be much that leaves the field as it's dense stuff.

I would consider fibrophos superior to any compound out of a bag except in terms of convenience. Kinder to the soil and agronomically superior. Yes it involves a contractor spreading it but so what.

I paid £250/t delivered and spread about a month ago, which is not far off your price I guess, with 5ac of spreading per ton.

At that, it was similar in price to when MOP and TSP @£600/t. They have fallen back to £450 since then I think, so Fibrophos needs to drop drastically now to remain competitive.

Agreed. I prefer a contractor spreading it - one less job for me at a busy time of year.

I’m looking to put some down after grass harvest and put some on a block of poor grazing ground that’s been neglected. It seems dear enough- would I be better buying 16(CAN)-16-16 +10S for £450/£500?
How does the P&K compare? I guess fibrophos P&K would be longer lasting?
