finding working trousers that fit a 13yr old boy

Having problems finding working trousers for tall lad. Craghoppers are tiny 13 yr old are really 2 sizes smaller. Decathalon 14 are the same - really dont get sizing from manufacturers. Youth trousers seem to finish at 14 but are really small more 11-12.

He's 5'3 with 29" waist.

I ordered mens 30" in craghoppers are they are absolutely enormous.

Im at a loss where to go thats reasonable price for growing boy. Does alot on the farm and likes to look smart so no joggers.

Any ideas?

Dickies reaper trousers, the last 2 pairs I replaced last week I bought in 2009 with continuous use. I think their fine but the wife didn’t quite agree.

Difficult. I tried 3 different workwear suppliers to find trousers to fit a lanky teen with a slight build, and the nearest was some nylon abomination that he won’t wear.
Simplest solution is to buy him several pairs of cheap jeans and use them for ‘farm stuff’ instead.

Ok, I’m 5-6 62kg and a thirty inch waist....possibly smaller..... and 41 years old. You’re probably asking for the impossible!

I wear Levi jeans (527’s) 30 inch waist and short leg, I have given up looking for work gear other than these. Cheaper jeans are ok but the pockets wear out alarmingly quick because they sew the pockets in before distressing them. Levi sew them in after, or at least protect them anyway.

You certainly get what you pay for but check out site king workwear plenty more size options than other competitors their shorts are really hard wearing too and have enough pockets to put Batman to shame

At 13 surely hes going to grow in to them pretty quick?

Bit of baler cord as a belt...or even make some braces.... jobs a good'un :D
I’m in my mid forties and I’m seriously considering braces! My stomach appears to be slightly distended which means I have to do up my belt so tight to stop my trousers falling down it hinders my walking!

Go into Cotswold and try the trousers they recommend for D of E. Alternatively Debenhams or better still TK Max- my lad was tall and lanky at that age, always found him something. TK max was the best for us as those sizes are the ones left over round here. He had red label Levi’s, French Connection, All good quality and reasonable.
