Fire basket

We have recently switched from burning pallets to wood chip in our Dragon D20

We have a limited supply of wooden boxes to burn the chip in, but we would like to make a suitable stillage / basket that we can fill with chip to load the boiler easily, failing that perhaps something with a push off mechanism to empty Manitou bucket.

All suggestions welcome

Thanks

Let me know how you get on!

ive mulled this over for years. I don’t think they will last long and the cost will be a killer.

why did you ditch grade A? have you considered shredded timber instead? Chip is v fine, get clinker.

you can get push of buckets, mine is from cherry but others make them.

arb chip is poor burn though.

Sorry I meant shredded timber rather than chip, a much better product.
Whatever we make, it'll have to be heavy if it's going to last
