Looking for a decent processor, able to handle decent sized cord and thinnings. Anything considered. Must have out going elevator.

Thanks for looking
the requirement that,..IT must have a out going conveyor,..is going to limit you
considerably,..and add alota extra cost.. IT should be just be an option,. as there are many options available when adding a conveyor are needed....Eric

kongskilde sawdust sucker blowers available and pipework and cyclones work well
and good value easy to fit grainblowers.co.uk
Did do till saw dust underneath caught fire...
Not much left of it now.
Then bought a 1x37 and no jokin every time I use it it breaks down...
And as you no I get around a few firewood guys and no one has good word to say about them.. None that do more than an artic load a yr anyway... Too many belts that's prob.. Palax is all hydraulic..

wood processors

I am considering buying a firewood processor, it would be a 1 man operation, to process mostly shitty knotty Lodgepole Pine, but also cleaner Sitka..
Or am I better persisting with my 17 t vertical splitter and cross cut saw with outfeed conveyor, which set-up I purchased 10 year ago, rather than investing in an expensive processor.
Figgering I could run the cleaner straighter stuff through the processor, and the akward/thicker/butt stuff through the splitter/cross cut set up.

cheers

Stick with what u have.
A processor will be a waste time.
We have sold over 1000 cube firewood since September 16 and our processor hasn't moved an inch
All done with chainsaw and vertical splitter

Bugger!
An there ah was itching to spend money.

Regardless Nick, I shall(probably) heed your sage advice.

I had toyed with a processor when I bought the splitter & saw & conveyor.
Since I billet(1.0m lengths) then bundle in 0.5m3 bundles to mechnically handle & stack to season.
But intend switching to 1.0m3 bundles after I get going with my new-to-me loader tractor.

Then I can cut measured amounts Ex the billet bundles for use or sale.
cheers again

I sold my processor last year. Wasnt really using it as much as id of kiked to be honest. Great if your constantly cutting nice striaght cord but most of my wood was all sorts of random stuff. id hire a guy in for a day with one before id even thinj of buying one again

Off topic. Any one know if small cone splitter on small 360 digger are any good for splitting 2.5/3mtr long cordwood dowm to as small as 6" diameter .I like the look/idea of the Rabaud cone splitter with grab attachment for splitting small diameter wood and using grab to pick it up and stack it.

I think I saw such an operation using a digger mounted cone splitter to break down large dia lengths on the ground, these were then fed through a processor, seemed a workable idea, key is probably splitting the wood while it is still green and sappy, and will split cleanly.
good luck
