Fixing Big 6 fibre cement ridge caps to fibre cement roofing sheets

Have an old animal building with an open ridge

I have lots of ridging caps that will fit. However they aren’t long enough to bolt to the two timber purlins just each side of the ridge

I know you shouldn’t bolt fibre sheets together, however are there any fixings that may be able to do this ?

I understand that cracking may occur when building moves a bit (if it moves)

it’s about 40m span so I didn’t really want to buy new longer caps

Anyone any ideas wrt fixings ?

drill a 9mm hole and m8 bolt with locknut them together but not tight?
hole clearance will allow some movement

I like the idea of an over sized hole with a nut and bolt. However a ball ache inside holding the nut.
I’m thinking a tek screw as a real bodge however doesn’t allow for any movement

I ended up with some fixings which we use in the side of roof lights to stop flapping on the side.
M6 nut bolt and washer with the nut set in a piece of rubber. Wind in the bolt and the rubber pulls up like a pop rivet.
Put in from top so no fiddling.
No idea what they are called or where they came from.

You might want to put caps on them too.
They look like Darth Vader's helmet
