Flat barley after the winds and rain

My daughter sent me a message this morning that on here way to school there is a lot of w barley that now looks like a carpet after last nights wind and rain . I do hope others are not getting hammered around the country .
This wind and heavy rain has just come at the wrong time for w barley in Dorset.

As posted elsewhere , I think a lot of barley is now down. Surge has gone over , but not the Cassia on a different field.

First year growing Hybrid barley, previous years growing Venture etc we never had v tall crops and never had much issue with lodging. Volume this year is the tallest barley we have grown. Will have a look later when the rain stops but praying its still standing up (Can't actually see a fair proportion of the field without going on a long and soggy walk through the crop). Hoping the PGR's we did put on will have been enough!

Yep it's down already had two neighbours tell me .
That's the problem farming next to a busy road everyone can see your triumphs but also your disasters!
The cassia back of beyond is still standing .

barley in flower and wet is a sure recipe for flattening in wind...old saying 'no farmer goes bust through flat barley but wheat is a different matter'.....doubt barley will come back up much but really talking about a few more screenings

first year in my farming life i've not grown winter barley...not missing the corn flattening season at all
