Milked some montys, vikingvreds and holsteins once a day from calving a fews years back. Montys wiped the floor with everything else but I don't know how they would compare to jerseys etc

I read an American research article a while ago on OAD milking and believe it or not there was very little between breeds, basically if you started with 100 cows of any breed something like 60-70 with thrive on OAD, 10-20 just over produce or dry them selves of and rest are natural culls. The research was carried out with lots of numbers, sorry I can't find the link.

First year oad here. Milking liquorice all sorts. Only breed I wouldn't use would be NR (braut) just don't milk out cleanly. Shame lovely looking beasts.
Monty and fleck crosses doing fine job. Haven't got experience of pure though.

This year we are sub ten cases per 100 cows. Last few years around 15.
What have we done differently? Dunno.
Probably culled more heavily because of drought but that could not explain it all.
Next season we might be over 20 cases just to get the average back to where it usually is.
Ok in your opinion if you were too milk TAD would the mastitis rates be similar? Btw what yield are you doing thanks
