Flock How to work this ???

From my understanding @Benn from when I called up about this - if you have access to it year round it's covered by your existing cph as within distance. However, if it's temporary grazing you get issued a temporary cph which generally lasts for years also. I have one of these for a small patch within a few miles which is a bit of a pain for paperwork. However - think the rules on this are gradually changing so that you can register all under one holding. Being phased in. All seems a bit bizarre, would have been just as well to say I had access to the other bit year round to forget about a temporary cph?

Another question got a block land that been offerd grazing for free off farm and bloke says he doesn't have a cph number do I ring up and get cph number for it??
It's 2.5miles away from farm.
Personally I'd keep it as simple as possible. You could add the extra land onto your own CPH. But also as said, an extra holding number can be useful occasionally to get around the six day rule. However, the six day rule would rarely be a problem especially if you sell lambs deadweight.

O
You can have two CPH numbers and two flock numbers for exactly the same ground. I have this for my dad's farm. The stupid thing is if he were to buy stock from me, which are on the same farm, possibly running together, then he will be under the 6 day rule.
Are you sure of this??

I asked SGRPID about this and they said "no tin pigeon my friend!"

100% sure. I've had this for the last 4-5 years. Like I said they made sure I couldn't use it to get round the 6 day rule, although I don't know how likely they would be to pick up on it, never tried.

Keep it as simple as possible.

The daughter has her own small flock, run in conjunction with mine.
All lambs get the same flock number. Our lambs are tagged with the same colour secondary tag, but mine have yellow eid in left ear and hers go on the right.

Very easy to differentiate between them.
We use ear notches.
Bottom notch = Firms
Top notch = mine
End notch = brothers
Double top notch = my lads (who seems too done very well this time, I’ve seen 12 lambs so far with double tops and he’s only got 2 ewes!!) good job he’s only 3 or if he accusing him of wrong clipping! 😂😂
