How much different is the 100w industrial heavy duty unit at 3 times the price?
And what light output will 100w led give, as approx quartz halogen equivalent?

The heavy duty range has a higher quality chip and superior driver. For example the standard 100W produces 8000lm were as the heavy duty produces 10000lm this is achieved not only by the chip and driver but by the superior build and heat sink. A primary cause of lumen depreciation is heat generated at the LED junction therefore heat generated must be removed by means of thermal convection and this is achieved by the Large fins for efficient cooling. Simply, the heavy duty is a superior build and is able to withstand continuous use in harsh environments whilst still maintain efficiency. It also has a 5 year manufacture warranty.
The easy way to work out Led comparisons is by comparing the lumens per watt - lm/w ratio.
Most halogen lamps produce a max of 24 lm/w. If you take the comparison of the 100W standard flood light at 80 lm/w producing 8000 lumens, a 100W halogen would produce 2400 lumens. You would need at least a 300W halogen to compare. To replace a 100W halogen you would need a 30W Led.
Hope this helps, we also have a Led guide on our website.
