In the process of converting a barn and it is now time to screed the floor. We have always put 75mm sand and cement screed down but being advised to go for liquid and everyone says it’s perfectly fine to go at 50mm. Have any of you had experience with liquid and would 50mm be ok. It’s over UFH. Thanks

Liquid screed is by far the better options ,it all depends on your levels ,set it to what ever the bottom of your door frames ,take into account what finnish you are putting on floor ,we use a floscreed called beltex ,dries much quicker ,8 days and tiling .its far better over ufh as it fills every nook and cranny, insulation dead level is the key ,1200g poly ,then underfloor ,tape all the joints ,expanding foam strip around edges, hoover after putting ufh pipes down, i used to sand and cement screed ,never again ,you get a finnish as smooth as a snooker table ,brilliant for tiling on or wooden floor .and no bad back or knees,we try to have a finnished floor plus screed at around 70 to 75 mm,so lay 50 to 60 mm of screed ,i have tried many time to get the insulation bob on but there is always some variance

Just had a 35 sq. m. Floor with a liquid screed, not sure about relative cost, but the finish is amazing , absolutly billiard table quality.
was recomended to leave tiling for 1 day per mm of screed. As it was our tiler got held up by a massive job and has just finished in time for Christmas

Cost us £450 labour and approx £1100 for 60mm liquid screed for 110m2. It’s a right good earned labour wise! 3 guys, 1.5hrs!
