Flowers?

I had a bit to much beer the other night, was in the proverbial with the wife next morning so duly bought the obligatory bunch of flowers for being an arse. Anyway I digress, it's made me consider the merits of growing flowers commercially in polytunnels. Does anyone know much about this as a business or know where a good source of info would be? I was thinking growing tulips, daffodils, sweet peas, lillys etc.

Friend of mine does it. Grows in lincs and sells via a couple of shops in the midlands but mainly into brum market. He’s had enough and can buy the flowers in for the same price as it’s costing him to produce them himself but without all the hassle. He says you can’t beat Dutch flowers and that’s from a guy who’s been doing this for 30 yrs and then his dad before him.

The current/seasonal "trend" right now for wedding flowers is foliages....lots of life's, wild foliages with some natural flowers. That's all I am being asked for just now and in all the trade and wedding magazines. It can be difficult to get good mixed foliages local grown

I think this idea has legs. So to speak. Capital costs look reasonable. The Mrs is adamant that I should look at growing Japanese herbs/veg as apparently there's a lot of demand for it in Cities and not many people grow them. I might try a few different angles, herbs, flowers, and see which works.
