Poor Hampshire . coming to us all as the effects of total mismanagement of our tax money coming home to roost , what a f..cked up country we have become, options left for public is now fly tip or save rubbish up for small expensive skip , which many can not do because they live on a small plot of ground in small houses. It really is becoming 3rd world situation very quick, and still they public sector keep their pensions and civil servants wages up , and waste it like no tomorrow. Where will it end?

Hampshire County Council is proposing to close five recycling centres: Alresford, Bishop's Waltham, Fair Oak, Hartley Whitney and Hayling Island.

Additionally, if Aldershot, Bordon, Casbrook (Romsey), Hedge End, Marchwood, Petersfield and Somerley don’t receive significant investment they could be forced to close as well.

Please submit your own views through the county council website (hants.gov.uk).

If you would like to know who your local councillor is to contact them, you can do this through gov.uk

The consultation closes on 31 March

An awful lot of the public will go for option #1 - fly tipping. HCC are fooling themselves if they think otherwise.

Regarding the consultation it'll be the usual bit of theatre. They already know what they want to do, the consultation is just a box ticking exercise. Still, i'll make my views known...

It's not just Hampshire, we have just had the same situation here in my part of Leicestershire.
Over 3000 people replied to the consultation about closing the tip in town.
The council recently spent millions upgrading a tip a few miles away on a very busy stretch of road, it's never been as busy as the one in town, so in their wisdom they thought people would start using it... not a chance, there's already piles of shite in every other gateway for miles, it will only become even worse.
Anyway, they backed down and said it will remain open...
They have now quietly decided they will close it for 4 of the 7 days in the week and do the same with the other one.
What with the state of the roads, the NHS, and everything else, It really is starting to feel like a third world country.
