Hi please can someone tell me ,we are using a FMX screen to control a rapid drill it's set up for variable rate and auto shut off on the headlands. What value do people set the latency settings at for starts and finishes on the headlands? Also does a higher number mean it stops sooner or later? Thanks

set the offset forward/back as the mesurment from the axel on the traktor to the seeding tubes. then put in the mesurment from det seding tubes to the ground contaktpoint. overlap setting auround 20 cm on latency 2 sec off latency 2.5 sec for barley and wheat. peas and beans is usally a second more

apply latency from boundry is very imoportant if you are using any boundry.'

The on latency is the physical time for the seed to travel from the metering unit to the outside Coulter as the seed tube on most drills is longer than the middle Coulter and takes more time to travel which is about 2 seconds.

The off latency would be again the time traveled from the metering system to the shorter seed tube which would in most cases be a middle Coulter which is about 1.5 seconds.

The timing will depend on the drill width as a 6 meter drill would have a longer on latency than a 4 meter drill and also the fan speed and seed size can give different latency's.

The FMX display will use the timed latency to start and or stop the metering system 2 or 1 seconds before the boundary or coverage logging.

Measurement in the implement setting are very important in order to get this set correctly as is a constant forward speed when crossing the boundary or coverage logged area, a rapid increase or decrease of speed will result in a overlap or underlap.
