Ford 3000 oil leak

I have a 1970 Ford 3000 with about 5000 hours. It is leaking oil from the crankcase breather pipe- not a lot, just leaving a couple of spots when parked up.
I have changed the oil, and put in an oil stop. Also used 15w/40 in the engine instead of 15w/30.
Why is this leaking and how can I stop it?

Its to be expected at that age, new ones dont as its sucked back into the engine, does it "breath" much when in use?
Not sure what you mean, it doesn’t spit oil out if that’s what you mean? It’s hard to see if it is blowing because it is right next to the radiator fan.

Breathing is vapors, steam like, its the gasses passing the piston rings/ valve guides, they all do it to an extent, yours sounds just fine.

Thanks Lincsman. A couple of very small leaks on the engine around the gasket. I’ve changed the oil and put in Lucas Engine Oil Leak Stop. It’s seems to have done the trick. I also have a small leak from either transmission or hydraulic systems, from where the two blocks are joined. I wonder if I could put the oil stop in with the transmission and hydraulic oil?

It’s better to work with old machinery that against it. Buy some oil and forget about it

Are you sure its not from the bell housing, (gearbox input shaft weeping) there will be a split pin in the hole (technical term; jiggle pin that keeps it clear), ether way dont worry about it its all normal
