Ford 4600 rear axle seals

Has anyone replaced the rear axle seals on a 4600, is there problems to look out for?

Not really, you just need to be rigged up 'cos the bell housings are 'top heavy' when you pull 'em off........

you then need to dismantle the brakes to get the half shaft out to change the seal. Change the 'top hat' seal on the brake actuator rod while you've got all that lot out.....

Cor that looks safe blocks of wood and bottle jack, our dealer had a made up, flat plate 4 long bolts turned bar to fit trolley jack,one person only needed.
