Ford 5000 roll bar

I wonder if someone can help me, I need to turn one of our ford 5000’s into cab less, so take the safety cab off, fit the old style rolled mudguards and potentially fit a roll bar.

Question is it necessary to fit one as in what are the rules and if we do where would we go about getting one?

TIA

I think legally you can do this if, the tractor is only used in low buildings, or if it is only ever used by the owner.
Having lost someone close in a rear end rollover, I would not recomend running with no protection, However many of the vintage enthusiasts seem to merrily ignore the rules

Assuming you have the standard Ford cab I would leave the square top mudguards in place and simply unbolt the cab from them. We did this many years ago but didn't fit a roll bar as the tractor was being used in low sheds as a scraper tractor.

It's legal to use in low building etc without any roll over protection
If you fit a roll bar it must be approved for the model of tractor, same with a cab
I'd suggest removing the tin and windows etc off the cab but leave the frame in place

I’d prefer to fit a roll bar for safety tbh, even if it’s a folding one that gets put up when it’s taken out the yard
