Ford 555C will only move in Reverse

Hi all, hoping some one can help.
My ford Digger 555C started playing up last weekend, not moving forward smoothly like a clutch slipping. The digger will now only move in reverse. Hoping this was not a torque converter issue I have been looking at other possibilities before committing to a strip down.
I Have removed the transmission filter to check for blockage but looked ok. But the filter was only filled with oil half way, which seemed odd. I then cranked engine engine to see oil flow with the filter off. There was no oil coming out at all.
Any information would much appreciated, not worked on any torque converter transmission before.

The trans level is good, with the oil looking clean on the dipstick. No leaks from the trans anyway. The rear axle oil level is correct also with the oil looking clean.
Was going to drain the trans oil to further investigate the oil, but unable to locate the sump?

Had a similar problem with a 655C a few years back, turned out to be electrical fault, not enough current getting to the shuttle sellernoid (however you spell it!), Lost reverse & dropped out of forward, worse when indicators used. New battery + alternator & replaced the big plastic plug behind plate under steering column.
