Anyone know a supplier that does the old style of dashboard for the 4 cylinder tractors?...but decent quality, the last one did 49 hrs and stopped recording.

E-bay has the ones that look slightly different and there's also the ones with the black fascia.

Black ones were Q cab i think. Do you need the whole thing or just the clock/hour meter?

Well, a second hand tacho/hour-meter would be fine, as long as it works...............0 rpm on left side

The original one the square drive for the cable wore out, then the replacement stopped after a brief spell, I tried to make one good one out of two but long story short I couldn't get the needle to lift off and register the right speed and after several attempts the needle stem snapped off.

(by black fascia I meant the actual background for the clock.....you know, like on the very last of the 10 series)

Contact Robert Dallyn at West Buckland in North Devon as I believe he uses someone local to him for Dash board repairs and by all accounts the bloke's good.

Are you sure the cable is still ok? there is another short bit at the engine end IIRC, best way to check is to start it and see if it turns.

Did you try the breakers?
If you're not happy with the new ones available, they might be worth a try/keeping in touch with them?
As most of the new stuff comes out of the same place with different mark ups .....

Thanks for that Mursal.

I got a s/h dash out of MJ Robinson, but discovered it was a 10 series and tachometer is ever so slightly different how it mounts and will not swap over in to the older dashboard.

A new tachometer is 360 notes out of a Ford dealer, thing is its the later type with the black background and yellow numbering and I didn't really want that. (Fussy devil that I am).

I spoke with Robert Dallyn today (mentioned up the thread) and he said he would get back to me on this in the coming week.

Might try Ron Greet as well, see if he will px a 10 series dashboard for an older one
