I had a ford 4cyl digger that did that, NO water in sump just oil in radiator. It was poruos in the main oil gallery along the block, found it with head removed, block full of water, airline pressure in oil light switch hole, bubbles in water. New block jobby. Previous 3 cyl digger , porous in rear cylinder wall, rebore and very thin liners fitted. Never had any of the 6 cyl engines go porous though.
