add £1k for new tyres.

These Schindler axles are a money pit if they are worn but should be ok at 4k hours if has been kept well greased.
They just aren't popular models over here, people want the 8210.
I haven't room for another, but that looks damn tidy!

There were a couple of 'restored' 8100s in a Ford sale one Saturday a couple of months ago and they only made £5k-ish each.

The 8100's and the Schindlers are unusual but a long way from rare.
Interesting website, I must refresh my O level French.

Yes, a retrofit by dealer I think.

Seems expensive. or was that list? .. £21.5K got you a TW30 in 1981

£18k included 4wd kit.
So about right for TW30 £21.5k as Ford aimed to fit their own 4wd and blow the conversions out of the market.

We had a price to put a shindler axle on a 7600 v plate in early 83.and the cost was roughly half the price of upgrading to a new 7610 with factory fitted 4wd.so we got the 7610.
