I have a 1963 Super major with a hydraulic issue. They lift no problem and hold weight etc but as soon as i clutch the tractor the hydraulics drop even when the hydraulic lever is at the top. When i release the clutch again the hydraulics go up again. Any ideas?

Lift the arms to nearly the top and pull the A S C out and see if they stay up

Hi I have check both things. Arms drop as soon as engine stopped. They do not stay up when ASC is out. Also they will only go up if the tractors PTO is engaged.

With them dropping with ASC in and out means there is a leak in the cylinder most likely piston seal.
They can only go up when the PTO is engaged as it is the PTO shaft that drives the pump.
