Would it be easier to organise a discount on a specific product for a set period of time. The supplier/retailer gets free promotion on the forum for the product in question. The forum member gets to save some money. Seems like a win win to me?

Aside from the commodity products, what else is there collective demand for from forum members?

Some product areas it could work well...

Basic GPS guidance system
CCTV cameras
Workshop tools
Farm signs

any more ideas?

An interesting proposition Clive, if you can make this work I'm interested. On the glyphosate front I'd be up for around 400 l. One potential problem - when sourcing chemicals on price you may need to understand which brand you are getting. I don't want to start the generic/brand/parallel import argument again but some people will need to know, for example, whether the product is Bravo or another chlorothalonil due to label restrictions, (I.e. max number of treatments) or if using a product on an EAMU then product name is important not active.

Still think a forum discount would be better, % off the total invoice of any product you require.
Group buying doesnt work in reality,Because no one can agree on the product or how much or when to order
