Did you get your delivery?

Was on the phone with them today... obviously, things have changed dramatically since January. The batch due to come in end of March isn't here as production has been stopped. He hopes for a job lot coming in, late May.

I've took measurements of the lugs and pin holes etc on my Alligator hurdles and spreaders and sent them to him. He text back and said his hurdles match up with my yard (y)

Currently waiting on him doing me a price on a few things, before ordering
Not yet , they’re obviously busy and can’t keep up / hit delivery dates. My stuff is small grant , rpa or whoever rang me to say they had been made aware of a delay before deadline was extended.

No, I've kindof given up with them.

Was on the phone to Alligator/Cox at the start of the week... they've never shut down /stopped production and I can get anything I want from them quickly. So they've sent out a brochure and price list and I'm figuring out what I want and how much I'm willing to spend.

Interestingly, someone local put up 20 of these hurdles for sale on FB. Never used, they just want rid of them... I was tempted to message asking if they were any good

Hi Nithsdale Farmer.

Just seen your comments about the hurdles. Sorry for any delays but obviously this couldnt be avoided. We normally keep this item in stock but at present it is our priority to keep our staff and family safe so our suppliers and ourselves are running slower than normal. If you would like anymore infomation please give me a call.

Kind regards
James (fowrass fabrication)

Hi James. Thanks for the PM, I have seen it - I'm happy to reply publicly

Welcome to TFF. It's always nice when a supplier/manufacturer can put their side across. It helps us all understand more.

Obviously these are unprecedented times which are out of all of our control.
You are completely correct to do what you feel is right and best for you, your family and staff. I don't think anyone can criticise you for this.

I'm not sure if you remember me specifically, but we have had a few conversations over the phone - mostly earlier in the year. I like how you talk, you are very helpful and nothing seems an issue when I enquired.
Your concertina hurdles would be perfect for what I need, to expand my mobile yard.

I've waited since early in the year, to see how this virus will unfold, and I've made do and gotten by so far this summer but I do need to get on and expand my current set up. My initial 'goal' was, I wanted extra hurdles on farm by early May for dosing lambs, but due to the virus and production slowing I had held off to give everyone a chance, and hoped we would be back nearer to normality by now. It is now almost August and sadly very little has changed - although I appreciate more people are now getting back to work so maybe production will be increasing?

I have no order in place with you, and my concern would be how long it will take you to complete existing orders and get caught up before any order I make would be supplied.

This is not your fault and I am putting no blame on you, and I have no issues with you either. It is a very unfortunate and difficult position.

I hope you can understand my position. Also, I apologise if you feel any of my comments in this thread have been unfair on you.

Did anyone end up getting the concertina hurdles from fowrass
Yeah, it would be good to know - I stumbled across their website recently and their stuff looked good, so it would be good to know if anybody on this thread had got delivery of anything and how they got on with it.

Bought several things from there over the last few years. Purely price led. Won’t be touching it again. The handling trailer is bluntly dangerous. I told them that the drawbar had snapped after 6 months and a new one was required. 3 months later a new one arrived exactly the same as the old one. Lasted 4 months. I again rang to say it’s not good enough. James is a nice lad and said he would see too it. Last I saw the design hadn’t changed. Most of the internal welds on the hurdles have been redone in our workshop over the last 3 years. And when the Jack’s failed I rang up and ordered 2 new ones they took 2 months too get too me. That’s 2 months of manually lifting a trailer up while someone else slips the transport pins in. I don’t like saying bad reports about small family firms but I would seriously think twice before bothering.
