It wouldn't be so bad if the do gooders were actually over the moon about the situation that you describe. The plain truth of it is that, by and large, they have neither land, land and livestock management experience or any idea of the strife that their clueless impositions cause in the countryside.

Surely can get someone to shoot the fox?
Got lots of ppl in this area who would love to go out fixing. To many ppl in fact round here!!

The volume of badgers being hit by cars is massive around here. Literally a daily occurrence. As for foxes I haven’t seen one for at least a couple of years. The ‘do gooders’ in their elec cars seem to be doing the job for everyone.

I posted on here before about this, but the amount of Badgers we have is unreal. Every field will have a set adjacent to it, some very large , you can see there marks all over every field. Regularly seem them at night and now occasionally during the day. Despite having some first class habitat ,I doubt a single ground nesting bird has successfully reared chicks for years ( and I’m not saying that because I’m worried about pheasants).

Same here, last year had a brief badger visit before they....moved on. This year alot more badger activity especially near to the woods on the hills. Scrapes appearing all over the fields especially under the old cow pats. Glad I've sold all the cows as it was just a matter of time before TB arrived here.
At least 4 foxes were about a couple of weeks ago, only one young male left now. Gather all the newborn outdoor lambs in to the shed/paddock for a few days before turning them out to a field. So far so good.

Sounds like a rifle and thermal scope should sort your problem.

our best 24/7 control of foxes and badgers, is the A 303, runs close to us.

in a cull zone, had a good clear out, 1st year, not many since.

pheasants, partridges and mallard, all reared broods last year. The hare population, has seriously increased, and we have seen h/hogs, 1st for decades.

Always reckon the best way to turn people against foxes, is to encourage them to keep a few hens !

And Badgers... I know of a badger lover changed overnight, after a badger got into a pen and house, and caused a disaster. Badger was caught red handed, and caused no further problems...

There’s a reason you can’t register to rehouse hedgehogs if you live near a badger set..... 🤦

I watched 4 badgers through a thermal working across a field in extended line sweeping the area last year. I knew they were efficient but I had never seen them in action like that. It reminded me of my army days learning to search for anti personal mines. Nothing would have survived in that field that night.

People have no idea about these things.

Only thought today how many dead ones I have seen in the last few days
