Good morning, this is a question for farms across East Suffolk and North Essex area (In the UK!)- we are a small team located at Ipswich Hospital and organise testing events for Hepatitis B and C also HIV if required; would any farms in this area like to discuss our service coming in and talking to and testing staff members (for free, NHS).
All these viruses are spread through blood to blood contact and farming is a high risk environment due to heavy machinery which is why I am getting in touch.
Alternatively, free NHS Hepatitis C testing can be delivered to your home/workplace: https://hepctest.nhs.uk/
Hepatitis C is a blood borne virus that can go undetected for years if not tested. There is currently no vaccine however treatment is 95% effective of those who are infected. If left untreated the virus can progress to liver damage, liver cancer and potentially end stage liver disease. NHS England have set a target to eliminate Hepatitis C by 2025, so it’s really important that we are able to offer free and easy accessible testing for everyone.
Please send a private message if you would like to discuss further.
