Hello, and thanks for taking the time to respond to my Post. And, no I'm not taking the Mick. Apparently there's no such thing as bad publicity. At the moment despite the best efforts of the Leftys, Liberals and Snowflakes in this country, we still live in a democracy and you're free to give your opinion, wrong as it is in My opinion.
Is it a pastime, a service or hobby ? Well, you can call it what you like.
However, one thing is for certain the word Free clealy got Your attention. How about if I'd put free pest management, in brackets except there's a £50 call out fee, a charge of £1.40 a mile travel and £68 per slab of 32g 6s, and I'm only available during office hours. Is Rentokil Free ? I think not. If I could find the edit button, maybe I could say.... Subsidised? How would that sound.
The Post is truthful and sincere, it does not say, "We Pay You" because its our "hobby" the fact is, yes, we supply all our own needs and epuipment, and, though we have had offers of free access on many occasions, as a gesture of thanks we also come to "an arrangement" the size and type of which depends on the circumstances and is between ourselves.
So, while you're busy reading
"betweenthelines" ask the farmer who last spring, in 10 days lost 6 lambs and a Ewe to corvids or the chap whose ram we spent an hour cutting free, trapped and wrapped up in rusty barbed wire and he'll tell you he appreciates us around the place. Or there are pigeons cr#pping everywhere in the barns and sheds.
As for being sat reading, "betweenthelines" or otherwise, I'm far too busy doing other things, as I'm only 70. Eitherway, you certainly won't catch me in Waterstones for heaven sake! There's something these days called the inter net, where there's 1000s of Free books, Free magazines and Free newspapers, or a Library.... that's Free too.

Anyway, thanks for taking the time to respond, its appreciated. I'm sure really you're quite a nice chap. Nice but Wrong, in My opinion.

Thanks Again
Roger

PS: turn your Caps Lock off eh..... its not needed. Have a lovely day.

Just try being honest Roj. You like shooting things and would prefer to do it without having to pay. Don't make out that you're some sort of pest control Superhero just acting in the public good

Dear betweenthelines
No we're under no illusion, we're not superheros and it's not for the public good. Payment doesn't have to mean £££ notes.
One permission we were on for 6years and one this last few months is about to become a building site.... sadly, like a lot of greenbelt round here.

I've had numerous shooters , the vast majority want a day out , very few see the job out . @davepritchard .... top gun
I guess you're right.... I can't say.
Some stick it out, some don't.
If there's stuff needs doing and people aren't up to the job, boot em out !
I don't think anyone would blame you.
In our experience you guys are busy enough without people wasting your time.
