What I meant and perhaps didn't word very well was, prices are going up in most things, currently farmers have lots of support in France but if families start to feel the pinch then that support might drain away, of course farmers need prices to cover their costs there is no argument about that, milk in the french supermarkets we go to are nearly double UK prices, chicken is very expensive per kilo for some reasonSo it's fine to increase the first two , but not the second? Don't forget the overall cost of living is much lower than the UK. Lower house prices, fixed low rate mortgages for the full term of the loan.
