So it's fine to increase the first two , but not the second? And I very much doubt its just to " keep the farmers happy" more likely to prevent the collapse of their farming system.
What I meant and perhaps didn't word very well was, prices are going up in most things, currently farmers have lots of support in France but if families start to feel the pinch then that support might drain away, of course farmers need prices to cover their costs there is no argument about that, milk in the french supermarkets we go to are nearly double UK prices, chicken is very expensive per kilo for some reason

Don't forget the overall cost of living is much lower than the UK. Lower house prices, fixed low rate mortgages for the full term of the loan. Even with the rises Electric and Gas are lower, €660 av annual bill for electric, no tuition fees so people not carrying that debt, the SMIC (minimum wage)€1 766,92pm for 35 hour week is automatically revalued every trimester.
Average UK household £8,800 a year worse off than those in France or Germany

Speaking to someone today whose friend has found floating debris in her garden from the farm protesters road block bonfire nearly a mile a way. The worrying thing is that the fire is about a 100 meters from a large méthanisation plant. :banghead:
