Idea is to create a very narrow clean strip. I think it has legs but needs depth control controlled by a spring or hydraulics otherwise it will dig in too much. Very fine line between doing a good job and blocking the drill. Any thoughts?

I tried this idea but to much ground pressure the tine went out of line with the disc and to little it didn't move enough trash . I made one with a piece of flat welded on with a slot cut in for the disc to keep it in line but it bunged up with trash ( and squeaked like a goodun ) .

Yes, I can see the potential problems. Just wonder if we could work around them.

Yep Andy, there are some photos on a thread titled 'Tips for 750A novice'. Did a pretty good job for establishing rape but by no means perfect. Where I 'sinned' and had a couple of fields baled the rape is definitely better established but it may make no difference come harvest.
