Front box, mounting points.

I ve had a tool box/weight made for Fastrac deck. I want to use it on front linkage for tools and carrying chemicals.

Problem is I want to have mounting points for front linkage underneath box and top part attached to top link and put it up and down. The geometry would be all out and something would bend. Is their a way of making it work? Front tanks on sprayers have lift arms underneath and close coupled, and must be able to drop down to take off?

Other option is to make holes in top link holder longer and pin it through their but couldn't adjust height and someone would put linkage down bending box!

if you want to put the box up and down,...........you will need to use the top link as normal
you can mount some brackets on the tool box lower left corner as you look at pic
another bracket on the back for top link

may need to make some drop down legs

I ll look at that thanks bob b hadn t thought of that.

Bob C it's going to stick too far out the front if I mount it that way. Another option would be to modify lid and have top link onto top but would rather have it full size for lifting weights in and out.

yes it will :(
will mean cutting the lid in half so you can mount the top link in line with lower links
if you still want to use the box on the back, may be better to start again

here goes
make a up side down tee for linkage
then mount a tool box on each side which would be above the linkage arms ,.......just a idear

Short top link bracket and an isolator valve on front links. Couple of box sleeves underneath for pallet forks to lift off.

Possibly just no top link and rest points further back on lower arms. As long as the weight is at the back it would sit?

Do you need to use the top link , would it work to use the lower links only ? new fittings for lower link balls then use the origional mounting brackets to clamp to lower link arms , not sure but may work ok ....

The old bottom link quick attach (like on the old Vicon spreaders) mounted under the box? Just put the bar on the bottom links before you go under the box to lift. The brackets for the quick attach will have to be long enough (down) to let the box sit on the two legs you are going to put on the box, before the lift arms catch the corner of the box. The legs can be solid or folding, you decide. Make up a top link to tidy the thing up.

Have you a spare mirror in the shed you can mount on the bonnet, for one man fitment .........

Love a bit of baler twine .........

Cheers tommy , must admit i thought about that later .

Fold up lower link arms , bar across using balls in normal way then 2 keyhole shaped brackets welded on back of box at the top . lower linkage , drive upto box ,lift linkage to locate bar in brackets and box rests against arms .

Hope this makes sense as i can't find pics at mo ..

Thanks for all the ideas. Its great. Once sprayer on and rowcrops on in May it will stay on till August so taking on and off not an issue. The 2 eyes on the top can be used for lifting it on and off. The only issue with having it on with links folded up will be height. Sprayer will be on 42s and box quite deep.

If I am understanding Sals dad correctly, if you put the 'keyholes' near the top of the box then the box would be lower than it is in your original picture. The lower links support the top of the box, and it could either rest on the lower links or could use a top link maybe?

Ok I see what you mean. Will just have to measure clearance between cab and box when on deck. That sounds like a good idea will put some pictures up when done.

yes i think youve got it no top link needed , just rests against lower links ,i used a much bigger box mainly for chems and just dropped it off in each field/block or near water supply , no need to get out to unlatch . Used for 9 years when we had trailed sprayer now in retirement as we have S.P .
