Commercial fuel solutions....southhampton are good on price for the ones we use.we have a 10 micron water trapping one on each tank and bowser.reduced from thirty micron a few years ago ...ours are cim tek.maybe there are better / cheaper options but ours work well so far.think some people use finer ,like 2 or 3 micron, but can cause problems constantly clogging they tell me,so we have settled at that.I believe some bowl type you can drain water off, where the type we use shuts the flow down the more water it absorbs.at least you know your getting the water that way though.

Go for genuine Goldenrod fuel filters, beware of cheap look alike copies. Google centretank services or oilybits, think Kramp might even still sell them. Might be a few quid more than the copies but better to spend a little more knowing you have the best.

Thanks would it be this one?

How many micron filters are others using and how do they fare?anyone using much finer than ten micron?

Goldenrod here as well, the good thing with them is you can see the filter through the bowl so can see when it's getting dirty
I’ve had trouble with mine blocking almost straight away been using them like sweets , threw the last one away and using without filter in now and no tractor trouble at all , maybe I’ve been sold the cheap copy’s ?

I got some from these guys.
I just picked a nice big capacity filter with a lot more flow potential than my pump with the view that it shouldn't reduce the flow rate.
And it hasn't.
I also put water soakers in the bottom of the tanks.

I use Chem Tec Hi flow ,2 micron water and particle ( HYD EL800B2) part no 70037 from FST.
Just bought 2 this week , £83.95 / filter.
Was having major problems with a JD engine machine throwing up error codes and derating engine due to slightly low fuel pressure . Change filters on machine , 2 and 10 micron and all good . However less than 2 days later same issues . Got 5 other machines on same diesel and no problems however they are all 10 micron filters on machines. Had diesel tested and yes slightly above normal particle figure but not deemed dirty .
Fitted above Chem Tec filter and has been good since.

I’ve just fit a goldenrod filter housing with 15 micron filter on a gravity fed tank but it is painfully slow. Has anyone found a higher micron filter that would fit on? Thanks

Sometimes they don't prime very quickly - just leave it with the hose down and come back later.
