Fuel tank flow meter

I need a fuel tank flow meter. I have in the past used a gpi? One that was in line and accurate enough for our needs. There are some very similar copies on eBay for about £20 as opposed to £230. Now I kind of know the answer as you only get what you pay for but just thought I would check to see if any of you had experience of the cheap copy.

We can quote for a 12v flow meter

Have a Piusi K24 on the fuel station. Very accurate. Not too expensive around £120.

Its on a double inline swivel arrangement just before the nozzle, so you can rotate the whole meter around easily to see it from whatever position you’re fuelling from, without spilling a drop.

Hello, would you be able to post a photo of how you’ve got it plumbed in ? I’m wanting to do the same thing myself.

Have you got the plastic or Ali one? I am a bit concerned that the plastic will break easily!

I think the one pictured keeps a rolling total as well. The gpi one does too but is dearer. The website link is keenly priced compared to the others I have looked at.
Commercial Fuel Solutions and Centretank Services are my usual go to guys for anything diesel or AdBlue refuelling related. Been using them for years and they, especially CFS, are generally quite keen on price and I believe will price match.

Do you need it for a fuel dispensing hose at say 60-80 litres a minute, or for something slow like a grain drier at 1LPM (13g/h)?
Because there aren't many meters that will accurately measure low fuel flow for a drier, let me know if you find one.

So I have ordered one of these from your link. What a great firm to deal with. Bloke I spoke to was really helpful and knew all there was to know about what he was selling which makes a pleasant change! Thank you for the recommendation!

I would use jointing compound too. Those look like parralel threads and I would be surprised if you can get a good seal. If you do there is a fair risk of overtightening and stripping the threads too. Been there , done that :(
Didn’t use any and it’s been fine tbh. The plastic threads on the meter snug up quite well with the brass and stainless fittings on nozzle and hose end swivel.

The galv pipe work on the station, which has BSP taper thread has been more “weepy” on the whole. The nozzle end has never leaked.
